The Institute for Nigerian Languages is currently a
campus of the University of Nigeria (UN) in Aba. It was formerly known as the
National Institute for Nigerian Languages (NINLAN).
It moved to its permanent site along Opobo Road, Aba in November 2007
after it became a campus of the University of Nigeria.
The temporary site, located in Ogbor Hill, has, basically, the staff
schools-Nursery, Primary and Secondary.
The current Director is Professor Clara Ikekeonwu, a Professor of Linguistics
and former Head, Department of Linguistics and
Nigerian Languages,
University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
There are staff in the areas of Linguistics, Nigerian Languages & Culture,
Education and Ancillary Studies.
